Thoughts:

A friend led a "class" to teach a couple of our mutual friends to knit, but also made a mini starter kit for me! It included a skein of cotton yarn, size 7 needles, a printout of this chart/pattern, and a couple stitch markers. While teaching our friends the basics, I was actually trying to finish up a different project first so I was mostly just there for occasional questions and moral support. I did want to make the pattern though, and eventually did, with other supplies. (I also forgot a lot of my stuff at friend's house...)

It's a mushroom, you can totally tell! I expected it to be hard to parse from the colors, but not to this extent. I like how the colors pooled at least. This is a cute chart! Plus it was nice to practice seed stitch (ignore where I messed up.)

This yarn was one of those GIANT cones (good price too) and wow it's been years and I'm just barely starting to see the end.

Lessons Learned: Reiterated, I'm pretty over (very contrasting) variegated yarn. I like the look of seed stitch a lot.
