Thoughts:
Scrap blanket! less than 1 skein of each. The ice cream yarn is leftover from the doll dress I made my niece. I've had this orange yarn forever and I started/frogged a few things with it. I've used it for test swatches and small details over time. So, a fair amount but less than a full skein left definitely.
I joined and chained like the pattern called for but realized at the end, on autopilot, I wasn't flipping each row. It's fine, who cares. I'm so happy with how these colors look together. The orange match isn't perfect, but IMO they still work. It's a little but good lap blanket, I like it :-) !
